As you are aware that CBSE has made several changes in the curriculum of Accountancy of class XII for the session 2018-19, namely :
Accounting for Not-for-Profit Organisations has been added for 10 marks so 3 questions of 1, 3 and 6 marks will come. – Accounting for Companies has been reduced from 25 to 15 marks, however, only two methods of Redemption of Debentures, namely Lump sum method and Draw of Lots have been kept.

Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has revised Accounting Standard – 4 (AS-4) on 6th April, 2016. Accordingly, Proposed Dividend is now considered as Occurrence of Events after Balance Sheet Date so exhibited in Notes to Accounts now as Contingent Liabilities. It is not shown under the head, Current Liabilities under sub-head, Short-term Provisions.
But CBSE has not issued any circular so far to adopt this change. It has adopted Companies Act, 2013 for the session 2015-16 onwards. Even the question on Cash Flow Statement in March, 2018 came ignoring change in AS-4 despite the fact that MCA revised it on 6th April, 2016. However, to avoid any sort of risk, we have explained the treatment of Proposed Dividend in questions pertaining to Cash Flow Statement by usual method as well as by using changes in AS-4.
